Nigeria | Vocational Training

Grant period: 2019-2021

Provides vocational training to prison inmates to improve their chances of integrating into society once they are released. 

 

Anchor Heritage, the implementing partner, provides free legal representation and access to justice to individuals who have been unjustly incarcerated. Since 2017, Anchor Heritage has secured the release of 61 inmates and has conducted multiple vocational training workshops. 

IMPACT

  • 721 inmates empowered through vocational training 

  • 81 inmates released through legal aid support

  • 25 inmates enrolled in aftercare scheme

Nigeria | Healthcare

Grant period: 2019-2020

Improves the quality of maternal and child health in Ibadan, Nigeria by addressing the leading causes of maternal and child mortality : malaria and a lack of proper sanitation and hygiene. 

 

In collaboration with HACEY, a non-profit organisation, the team delivers life-saving health information and commodities such as mosquito nets and birthing kits, and works to strengthen the local primary health care system. 

IMPACT

  • 6340 Long Lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLITNs) and 2,500 birthing kits distributed

  • 20 primary healthcare providers, 20 community birth attendants, and 30 community leaders trained

WILLIAMS OLAJIDE & MONYE NGOZI 

Tolaram Group Business: Lagos Free Zone Company & Lekki Port

Nigeria | Vocational Training

Grant period: 2019-2021

Nurtures the artistic talents of underprivileged youth as a means to tackle poverty within the Ibeju-Lekki area in Lagos, Nigeria through the development of a fine arts school. 

 

In addition to coaching on the theory and application of modern art, students will be equipped with business skills to exhibit and sell their work, and be exposed to opportunities to strengthen their network and build their brand. 

 

IMPACT

40 youth enrolled to study fine arts art theory and application. They are currently preparing to exhibit their work.
